This image reminded me of John Bunyan's 'Pilgrim's Progress', hence the title.

Recently I got lost in a strange wood with a dog. I thought the dog would lead me home. No chance! The dog was just as lost as I was.

I spent all afternoon painting on the beach. Just as it was getting cold and I was thinking of packing up, I did this painting in a hurry. It is the best of the lot!

I like this image, as it's quite stylish and the breakfast looks tempting.

She is so quiet and  unassuming, but she rules the roost over two large dogs. Here she looks so compact and self contained.

Walking the dog in the fading light. A bit cold a bit spooky. Looking forward to getting in the warm.

The model always has inspired props which make the image more fun.

I am very pleased with this study. It was a leap forward for me in terms of figurative work.

Two of my friends were standing in the stream near Jack's Lake in Handley Wood near my home. The light was in my eyes so I couldn't see them clearly.

I adapted an image I saw in a newspaper. It made me think of people rushing to an fro in the underground, you can never be sure who is with whom, and what, if anything, is going on between them.

I spent a fruitful afternoon sketching and painting the surfers -  wind, energy, daring and grace with a few near misses for unsuspecting swimmers.

I decided I don't want to produce pretty pictures. I also realise I am not a pretty picture. I put the two ideas together.

This is a banana tree in Annabel's Turkish garden. We didn't eat the bananas as they weren't yet ripe.

The combination of colours and the difference between the sky and the grass is calming and satisfying.
