My Mother's Children
About this workThis is from a photograph taken in the early 1950s of my mother, myself and two elder brothers. These reflections were prompted by the illness and death of my elder brother.
I wanted to remember myself and the family at this time. I don't think I did, but it helped anyway. It has a domestic radiance for me.
Happy Days
About this workMy brothers and I lying on a rock on Mull, Scotland. We look so picturesque, it's poignant. I can't remember this moment but I do believe it was a good holiday.
Curious Family Snap
About this workThis curious family snap shows the family with both my stepmother and my mother (just before she died) in the same picture. My middle brother is typically elbowing me in the back. In fact it is quite a significant picture in many ways.

Three Trees on the Skyline
Trees in the Snow
Three Trees in a Wood
Three Trees in a Field
About this workLeaving my yoga teacher's house after a convivial tea with the class, I looked over the hedge and saw these three trees standing in a field. Like myself and my two brothers we had somehow been a group of three siblings seemingly unassailable. But now 'we three' are down to two, and links with the past are being shaken. But it was a beautiful group of trees anyway.
